Dock Street Is Playing Non-Stop Wu Tang While It Ages a Beer

Vince Desrosiers is creating a beer that can bring da ruckus.

Desrosiers, the head brewer at Dock Street in West Philadelphia, is currently aging his new golden saison. Playing next to the barrel for the six months it’ll sit there? Wu Tang Clan, streaming from Spotify.

"I listen to music every day in the brewery and I've wanted to do a series of beers based on the music I like," Desrosiers says. "It's hardly an original thought but my musical taste is all over the place and Wu Tang seemed like a great place to start."

Dock Street's forthcoming golden saison beer, with spicy pineapple and orange-tart flavor, will therefore be christened Dock Street Beer Ain't Nuthin’ to Funk With.

When Desrosiers was at Iron Hill North Wales, he brewed a beer for Phillies fan blog Zoo With Roy — So Cuttered Hoppy Wheat — as well as a beer called Tom Selleck's Mustache that Selleck himself eventually found out about.

Though the constant Wu Tang music is a bit of a gimmick, Desrosiers points out Cambridge Brewing Company's Will Meyers stimulated the fermentation process using tuning forks for a beer he called Om. "It started as a joke," Desrosiers says, "and then we wondered if the bass would cause enough vibration to move the yeast around and create some different flavors during fermentation."
He said next, he's aging a beer while playing "Run the Jewels." Dock Street Beer Ain't Nuthin’ to Funk With should be ready sometime later this year. "Who knows," Desrosiers says, "maybe we can get the ODB hologram to perform for the release party."

Even Ghostface Killah Has Confused Action Bronson For Himself

Throughout his career, Action Bronson's voice has been to compared to Ghostface Killah's, but it apparently wasn't just fans making this mistake. In a recent interview with VladTV, Ghostface openly admitted that when Action first hit the scene, even he got their voices confused on a song and wondered when he recorded a verse that was actually Bam Bam.
